How Migrate While Active works

1

Prepare target system

A new target system is set up, creating the foundation for data transfer between the primary and secondary systems.

2

Transfer data

The relevant data is transferred from the primary system to the secondary system. This gradually prepares the new target system for the subsequent switch-over.

3

Switch-over

After the data transfer, the switch-over to the new system takes place. The previously established mirroring provides the basis for the switch-over from the existing to the target system.

Migration with Professional Services

BUS4i Migrate While Active can be implemented as part of Professional Services.
The migration follows a structured approach – from planning to the final switch-over.

The first step is to analyze the existing environment and define the migration strategy.
The target system is then set up and the data transfer is prepared.

Once the data transfer has been completed, the new environment is tested before the switch-over to the target system takes place.
